    A US friend of mine had an email sig: “When I’m Evil Overlord, I’m going to swap it around so the publishers sell all the heroin and the drug dealers sell the books”. Always struck me as a great way to solve two proba at once.

    Of course we do know that illegality helps book sales -witness samizdat.
